Collective labour agreements and local

arrangements

VAWO resprentatives are involved in the negotiations of the collective labour agreements (CAO) at the universities, medical centres and research institutes. We are also strongly respresented in works councils at all levels (ondernemingsraden, universiteitsraden, faculteitsraden id.) and the consultations with the local boards (Lokaal Overleg).

The VAWO is associated with the CMHF and the MHP, through which organizations we participate in consultations on socio-economic issues and pensions.

VAWO’s priorities are set by its members. A general meeting is held twice a year. Furthermore, there are platforms for the discussion of local issues, and consultations of all members wishing to be involved on the targets for and results of the negotiations of the collective labour agreements.
