Aside from good employment conditions, the VAWO works hard in collective agreement negotiations, for a staff policy that does justice to scientists and supporting staff and science itself. Among other things, we strive for the reduction of the number of temporary contracts for scientists and maintaining the employee status of doctoral students. But subjects like career development and diversity are also discussed at the collective agreement table.
The VAWO negotiates directly with the VSNU about the collective agreement universities and with the WVOI about the collective agreement research institutions. Via umbrella organisation CMHF, the VAWO is involved in the collective agreement negotiations with the Dutch Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU).
