40.000 protesters gathered on Malieveld

15 maart 2019 - More than 40,000 people protested during the National Education Strike in The Hague. It was remarkable that all education sectors together raised their voices for the necessary investments in education.

The concerns in education are great, from primary schools to universities, everywhere they suffer from staff shortages. According to Rens Bod, initiator of WOinAction, 1 teacher per 1000 students is no longer an exception. "This must change," Bod called out to the crowd.

Also teachers of secondary education, primary education, support staff, students and even parents with children climbed the stage to make a call for investment.

Together the entire education needs and demands four billion euros from the government. In any case, the high turnout shows that the government will have difficulty getting around this so important issue.
